Most people are too caught up in their own lives to see that others also have issues they are dealing with. It takes time to appreciate where someone else is coming from. As a teacher I often had children with behavior problems. I always tried to make that child feel special by giving them some special role within the class so that they could gain some respect for themselves and also from other students. I was always able to find something positive about that child and build on that. It was a treat to watch that child blossom. It is important to empower others...amazing things can happen. Life is too short to spend your days disgruntled.
